Want Your Car to Be in a Showroom Condition?
Car detailing is nothing like traditional washing and waxing, however, there are some auto centers that provide these services together. Basically, a wash and wax job is simply that, meaning the outside of a car will be washed and waxed. Detailing, however, goes so much further, and even though most of it is concentrated within the interior of a car, it does involve some outside work too.
Interior car detailing
The secret to quality detailing is taking the time to clean and restore your car’s original look. Sometimes the vehicle’s front seats will be taken out in order to vacuum the floor and the upholstery is thoroughly vacuumed as well.
Once vacuuming is done, the mats, carpets, and upholstery will be cleaned. Also, depending on the state of the car, this could mean using multiple products, ranging from upholstery cleaner to shampoo and spot cleaners. A wet and dry vacuum could be used on the likes of fabric seats. Auto detailing generally will remove most stains and will make carpets and seats look almost new.
Any vinyl within the vehicle, like the door panels, trims console and dashboard will be cleaned, then treated using a special conditioner to keep vinyl supple. Steering wheels and foot pedals will not be conditioned, in order to prevent any slippage. The speedometer will be polished to a high shine and any minor scratches are removed.
Q-tips will be used on the harder-to-reach areas, like heater vents, etc. Seams in the console which are dust collectors will be cleaned using this method too. Lastly, all glass will be washed and cleaned. These must be streak-free as these could impair vision. On the exterior, any scratches in the bodywork will be taken care of by auto detailing. Every blemish will be cleaned using wax. However, auto detailing will not remove major scratches or dents.
